Kirey’s Pet Salon is here to help you furry friends look the very best. We believe all furry friends deserve to look great. At Kirey’s Pet Salon, we want you to be proud of your furry friend’s appearence. We offer you expert styling services at reasonable prices. Our caring groomers will give your dog or cat the personal attention that  they deserve.

Final prices are at groomer’s discretion. Prices will vary depending on the condition of coat, type of cut, matting, and behavior of dog.

All pets are required to be bathed as part of the grooming process. This benefits your pet and protects the groomer’s equipment. Each pet is bathed with a hypo allergenic shampoo.

Anal Glands.

We will check and attempt to express anal glands on small breed dogs. If you do not wish for this service to be done, please notify us at the time of drop off. If you have a large breed dog, you may request this service. Furthermore, we only provide external anal gland expression. Should your pet have impacted anal glands and need internal espression, a vet will need to provide this service.

Ear Cleaning

All pets will have their ears cleaned with a mild ear cleaner. If your pet has an ear infection, we will let you know so you may consult your veterinarian. Ear hair removal is a standard part of the grooming process, if you choose to not have your pet’s ear hair removed please let us know. Ear hair will be removed/not removed based on your preference and your vet’s recommendation.

Nail Trimming

All nails are trimmed and buffed during each grooming appointment. If your pet shows any signs of aggression during the nail trimming process, we will muzzle your pet for the safety of the groomer and the pet for the remainder of the nail trimming only. We do not like to use muzzles and will try everything possible to avoid muzzling your pets. We will do our best to trim the nails as short as possible, without hurting your pet. If your pet is showing signs of stress or aggression, we may not be able to buff the nails. In severe cases, we may not be able to complete your service. You will be notified if this happens and given further instructions at that time. The safety of both the pets and groomer is our priority.

Grooming Process

There are several things to keep in mind when your dog or cat is being groomed. All pets are bathed before the groom. A clean pet is easier to groom than a dirty one. We aim to have all pets done within a 3-4 hour window, but this is not always possible.

For instance, de-matting a pet can be a time consuming process. Mats that are too close to the skin may need to be shaved for the comfort of your pet. You will always have the opportunity to speak with your groomer at drop off, but keep in mind there is only so much we can do when a dog or cat has severe matting. If we cannot do what you ask, we will notify you and give our recommendation. In some cases, it is best to start over and place your pet in a good maintenance program. The groomer can speak with you after the groom and give you advice on how often the pet should be groomed, brushes, and other tools to help maintain your pet’s coat.

Running Late

Please arrive promptly for your appointment. Each groomer is allotted a block of time for grooming your pet. If you will be more than 15 minutes late, we ask that you call and notify us.

Cancellation Policy

Kirey’s Pet Salon does require 24-hour notice when canceling your grooming appointment. If you no-call no-show two times, we will ask for a $25 deposit on your next groom. The $25 will be applied to the groom, however; if you cancel or no-call no-show, the deposit will not be refunded. We do understand that unexpected issues may arise; please notify us as soon as possible in those cases.


Our groomers strive to groom your pet according to your specifications. We keep notes regarding who groomed your pet last and what the specifications for the groom were. You are able to request the same groomer. However, if they are not available, another groomer will be able to read the notes on how your pet was last groomed. If you are unsatisfied with the groom, please let us know before you leave the shop so the groomer may perform any necessary corrections. If changes are requested more than 24hrs after the grooming appointment, there will be an additional charge, which may include a re-bathing fee.


Unfortunately, there is always the possibility of cuts, nicks, or burns during the grooming process. Some pets are harder to handle than others and accidents may occur. We always do an inspection of your pet upon arrival and in the bathtub. Your groomer will notify you if anything is discovered at that time. If any cuts occur during the grooming process, we will notify you and advise you on how to treat these. However, there may be instances when mat burns occur after a pet is shaved. This is not because the groomer was being careless, but a direct result of the severity of the matts. An injury caused due to the condition of matting is NOT the responsibility of Kirey’s Pet Salon and any vet costs incurred due to this are at the expense of the client.
